The Sooner State
All things Oklahoma-roadly
My grandparents live in the sprawling metropolis of Council Hill, Oklahoma. They are really closer to Wainwright, but that doesn't matter to the folks who make boundaries. In case you don't know (and how could you not?), Council Hill and Wainwright are about 20-25 miles south and west of Muskogee. I think I can call myself an honorary "Okie from Muskogee." I've been there enough times! The above picture is part of the old 9 ft. wide section of America's Main Street, US 66, near Afton. Below, you can click on the links to specific regions of the state (well, the parts I have been to) and take a tour of one of the best states in the country.
