Trip to see my Grandparents

The way back

Now we're on Scenic OK 10 north of Tahlequah.  This is a very twisty, and very scenic road, that makes me think more of the Great Lakes than the Great Plains. I think this is US 62 East in Tahlequah.
A nice S-curve on OK 10 NB. OK 10 goes by these forested bluffs.
I like your curves, baby! Oooh, yeah!
Whoa, there!  Try not to hit that GIANT ROCK. OK 10 at US 59 and Scenic US 412.  "Scenic" US 412 is a bit of a misnomer, and should really just be called "Alternate" US 412.  Regular US 412 is the Cherokee Turnpike.
Scenic US 412 and US 59 headed east.  The bridge carries the Cherokee Turnpike over this road. A Cherokee Turnpike shield.  Older turnpike shields have a blue Oklahoma with the name of the turnpike inside.  I like these newer ones better.
Not the Cherokee Turnpike anymore, but this is the US 412 and US 59 expressway Eastbound. SB US 59 leaves the roadway here, just before US 412 enters the state of Arkansas.
Still in Oklahoma, but we're looking into the state of Arkansas now. Welcome to Arkansas on US 412 EB.
AR 59 joins US 412 now, around Siloam Springs. The scene on US 412 EB in Arkansas.
We took US 412 to I-540 NB. I-540 in these parts is pretty rural.  It bypasses a bunch of smaller cities before turning into US 71.
Bentonville has a US 71B. The freeway ends in a mile.
But first we go through a rock cut with layers. The US 71B exit.
I-540 North has ended, and now we're on US 71 North. US 71 reduces to 2 lanes at the Missouri border.
North US 71 in Missouri now.  The 2-lane stretch of US 71 in southwestern Missouri is under construction now, probably to bring it to 4 lanes. Yep.  Looks like.
The current beginning of the US 71 freeway near Anderson. A US 71 freeway scene.
US 71 North hooks up with I-44 East here.  MO 249 continues ahead to MO 66 in Joplin. A pretty menacing cloud near St. Louis on I-44 EB.
