Freestanding shields, in case you missed the giant green signs. Nope, don't wanna go back east on I-4.
At first, I though that traveling US 27 would be mistake because of all the traffic I encountered, but it got better as I kept going south. The US Routes that wouldn't die!!!!
South US 27. If Minnesota is the Land of 10,000 Lakes, then Florida must be the Land of 9,999 Lakes.
Lookin' pretty Gladesy. Approaching FL 60.
A short little dance with US 98, before it heads east to West Palm. Here's FL 17, which kinda parallels US 27 for a while.
It actually crosses US 27 a few times, ending and starting again sorta. I went on FL 64 WB for a mile to get Hardee County.
The lakes rub right up against US 27. I can't tell you how many Eckerd's I saw on this drive.  They're probably all now CVS, as CVS took over the Eckerd name.
Wow, a slight hill in Florida!! I totally don't even know what town this is.
The further south in Central Florida you go, the less development there is. I think think think but am not sure, that this is the intersection with FL 29, which goes to Immokalee.
A whole lotta nothin' out here west of Lake Okeechobee. FL 80 West goes to a town called La Belle, and then to Ft. Meyers.
Coming into Clewiston, right on the shores of Lake Okeechobee. Kind of a neat-o bridge here.
You can see the flat agricultural lands in the distance. Now abouts in Belle Glade.
Stinky old Jimmie Johnson won the race right about here, where a rainbow formed over the Everglades. Here's US 27 approaching I-75 in Broward County.
The camera got blurry for Broward County, but this is now I-75 at Arvida Parkway. Almost at the huge stack interchange with FL Toll 869 and I-595.
Stay left on I-75 in order to make a sharp curve to the right.  It confused me at the time.  I-75 will enter the Broward sprawl in about a mile and a half. That's all folks!!!!
